48125W Firmware Issues

#1

I just updated my firmware to VSOD. Now, through Nero, I only have the option to burn at 48X, 8X, and 4X.

Any suggestions?

Thx.

Tried different media types?

Hey OC, No I haven’t. But I also have an 811 and with the same media I have the option to burn at 40x, 32x, 16x, etc.

Unless the two drives react different to the same media?

Anyone have any “back rev” firmware for a 48125W?

This is yet another problem that is often fixed by Uninstalling the drive from Device Manager and restarting your computer. If that doesn’t help, then uninstall whatever you see under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers in Device Manager or just the channel that the drive is on and restart.

Flashing the firmware again is completely unnecessary, the problem is caused by Windows, not the drive or its firmware.
