47inch LCD viewing space

Anyone know what the viewing space is for a 47 inch TV?

The calculator helps show the folly of worrying about 1080p without taking into consideration how far away you sit. I sit about 7 feet from my 42" set. At that distance 1080p would be be a needless waste of money.

Based on Visual Acuity with a person having 20/20 vision.

You have to take it with a grain of salt, ultimately it’s what looks good to you.

I’ve found the best results when sitting 6.5 feet away from my 47" 1080p Toshiba LCD.

Are you talking 720p or 1080p?

Fully resolved 1080i or 1080p for a 47" would be about 7.1 feet

The human eye with 20/20 vision can detect or resolve details as small as 1/60th of a degree of arc. These distances represent the point beyond which some of the detail in the picture is no longer able to be resolved and “blends” with adjacent detail.
