4163b or 1693s for durability/reliability

I’m looking for a new burner that is durable and reliable. Both Benqs that I’ve had (822+1620) have died and have been extremely dissapointing in this respect.

I burn only occasionally. Maybe a few DVD discs a week, at most, using the discs rated speed. The 4163b interests me because of the quality burns and, 0 offset writing on CDR. On the other hand, there is the 1693s which has excellent quality burns at <=8x and also kprobe. Still, durablility and reliablility is my most important requirement.

Any comments on these two burners or any other non-benqs/plextors will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
