411S FSOB - Known Media List Please

Now that FSOB has been out for afew days, Can someone suggest some media names to try/buy please? I have heard that expensive media works but a definitive list will go a long way!

Nearly every available media has been scanned and posted in the media test forum. Suggest you search there for the ones that look the best. You can search by “FS0B” in that forum.
Bottom line is that you can’t go wrong with Fuji, and it’s often on sale. Memorex is largly Ricoh, which is variable in quality especially the 4x stuff. But you will also find CMC and Prodisc in Memorex packages. Verbatim DataLifePLUS is usually a decent choice too.

Discs with these codes should work at correct speed, but there is no guarrantee that they will work good.

Just to put in what experience I’ve had.

I bought some DVD-R 1x discs from CompUSA…they were CompUSA branded, and the code was PRINCO. Using firmware 02, I got 3 discs that work in an Apex player, but not my RCA one. Upgraded to 07, ended up with 8 coasters (admittedly, a couple were computer problems). I just finished upgrading to 0B. I’ve burned 2 discs that work just fine in both players. I was affraid I screwed up getting this cheap media…and it has cost me a bit (8 discs), but I’m finally able to use them.
