411s => 811 FAILLED, HELP undo PLZ

my 411s 's light is flashing orange (all the time!) as when a firmware upgrade is finished and is awaiting for reboot.

I am trying to go back to 411s mode.

A the present time, the burner is recognized by the CMOS and by win2k.
eeprom : set back to original backup
firm : FS02 (flashed through LTNFLASH, I tried MTKFLASH 1.80.1 too)

But no CD/DVD is recognized by the drive.

mtkflash works without any problems, LTNFlash works fine, and the official firmware upgrades from lite-on (.exe) work fine too.

Nothing seems wrong, I can flash as many time as I want and what ever I wish, but the drives’ light keeps flashing!! (even after reboot/shutdown etc…)

PLEASE… What is there to do?

try reloading original eeprom, reboot, then reload a 411 firmware, reboot then update with an exe of a newer firmware. Try it out n get back to us.

Use LTNFlash and be sure to select “update boot code” on the FW flash.

o yeah… that 2 :smiley:

… and make shure your drive really is a 411 and not a 451 :), e.g. by looking into the eeprom. You also should update the bootcode.

booma: I did as you mentioned. It didn’t change anything. I’m going to have a look at your link ala42, as this seems to be the same problem. :slight_smile: (hope…)
