40125S -> 48125W : very strange behaviour

I’ve tried to oc my new 40125S (XSU1) to 48125W with the VS08 and I’ve got very strange results :

  1. When I open the tray, it closes automatically after 2-3 seconds
  2. The writting simulation with CD Speed works fine (even a 48x), but when I try to burn a “real” CD with Nero, I always get a “Power calibration error” (even at slower speeds)

I’ve also tried the VS02, and I got exactly the same errors.

If someone knows a solution, I’m interessted …

As per the “The Big Lite-On FAQ and overclocking thread”:

LTR-40125S (f/w XSUx) -> not upgradeable
LTR-40125S (f/w ZSxx) -->LTR-48125W

Fash it back to the XSU1 firmwear.

Thanxs …

I’ll search for a ZSxx :wink:

LOL :bigsmile: . . . I think that’s what he meant

If you’re gonna return it, might as well, get the next model up. Lite On 48x12x48 CDRW Model LTR-48126S is $59 shipped @ newegg if you ain’t in Cali. Then you can OC that baby to Lite On 52x24x52 CDRW Model LTR-52246.

@Matt: What do you want a ZSxx for? That won’t work either :confused:

I meant finding a ZSxx drive … not flashing my XSUx with ZSxx …

>> I’m in France, and here, I’ve never seen a 48126S … there are only 48125S and some very expensive 52246 (110 $ …)
48126S will probably come in a few weeks …
