3540 1.01 firmware is out!

The 3540 1.01 firmware can be downloaded from my site. See link below.
Keep in mind that this is a dumped firmware from a 3540 machine and not tested yet…

Quikee2, the firmware can not be read with NecDump 1.2.2

Liggy, the firmware can not be read with Binflash 1.15 if I’m not wrong.

Yeah the size of the firmware is greater than with other firmwares… and no K354 at the end…

Thanks. Do you release another version of NecDump soon?

Yes… everything is working for 3540… only checksum isn’t =) Can it be that it’s calculated wrong ?

Could be, it’s dumped firmware…

This firmware was dumped only with a test dumper! There’s no way this firmware will ever be accepted by Binflash.
But I just updated Binflash to version 1.16 and this version should support 3540 drives. In order to get a usable firmware from this 1048576 Bytes, you have to strip the first 24576 Bytes and add the text K354 to the end of the file.

Liggy… hehe i tried to strip the last bytes =P

OK I made the adjustments to the NecDump to properly support 3540 firmware. Checksum is now OK. NecDump reuploaded.

Thanks Liggy. Is it possible for you to send me this ‘updated’ firmware so I can post this on my firmware page.

You could have changed this yourself, but I also sent you the corrected firmware.

But something else. The fact of 3530/3540 firmware not working on 3520 drives might be caused by the fact that these newer drives just have some more calibration data that is missing in the 3520 drive.
I compared Dee’s calibration area with that of the person who sent me his firmware dump and I could clearly see some values in the 3540 memory that were not set in the 3520 drive.

The Nec nd-3540 already start the seels in the shops ?

I don’t think so. But it probably soon will…

might serve as a reference.
