3500 or wait for 3540?

Hi folks,
I’ve managed to find some 3500 here in the UK and was wondering whether I should get one of these or hang on for the 3540?
What’s your opinion?

I’ve ordered a 3500 but I’ve just noticed that the 3500 can’t write dual layer -R disks only +R, whereas the 3520 (and more than likely the 3540) can write both. Given this limitation is the only reason to get the 3500 over the 3520/3540 is the alternative firmware?

If you always wait for the latest in tech. you will never jump off the dime. The 3500 is and excellent burner, and given that the 3540 is untested it may turn out to be dud like others have said about the 3520.
