32123S to 40125S and after?

Excuse me but i didn’t understand something , may someone could explain me …

I oc my 32123s to 40125s ( fantastic !!! P-CAV : )) ) but my question is it impossible to oc it to a 48X burner now ?? because of the chipset in the 32123s oc at 40125s ?

no no no :a
the XSU1 firmware of the 40123S is based on the “3” chipset and
you can’t flash it to 48

==> FAQ :cool:

no no no

Seriously ?! I heard the same words a bit over 2 months ago

I guess you weren’t familiar with such similarities,
which perhaps will make you think twice :cop:

Well, until somebody proves that you can OC an 32123S (24103S) to 48x, it’s impossible. :slight_smile:

Or alternatively, until somebody proves that it is impossible to OC an 32123S (24103S) to 48x, it may be possible. :cool:

Why doesn’t Liteon do the “right” thing and come out with a new official firmware for the 32123S that supports Mt. Ranier and P-CAV, but at 32x max speed? Jeez… Are they in denial or what?

Sure thing !

@Airhead

Let me quote you, it’s taken from here club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54277

…and everybody who own’s a 32123S or 24103S (my drive is originally a 24103S, overclocked to 32123S, and now 40125S ))

The moral of the story is like this =
Since your drive is now being recognized as the 40125S,
what’s that that hinders your from going further and flashing it with for ex. the VS08 ?
As we all know, those wishing to do so have already OCed their drives : 40125S -> 48125W

Furthermore, you should have noticed one important detail if you’d followed my link above.
And the thing was that both godzilla525
club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47007
whose drive originally was Lite-On LTR-32123S and I whose drive originally was LTR-40125S ( with the 32123S hardware inside ! )
had the very same chipsets, that is MT1508E 0203-CRB HBM28 and MT1516E 0203- CPS 30031 .
My LTR-40125S since long time ago has been flashed to LTR-48125W, nowadays with the latest FW VS08.

So ?!

It’s only thanks to the XS firmware you can flash to 40x, flashing a 3S with a ZS firmware has been proven impossible… However, if LiteON would develop a XS FW for the 48x, sure thing… But I don’t think they will… :slight_smile:

hits the gong-gong
I hereby make it officially impossible to OC a 24 to 48! :bigsmile:

Well, you know…whatever reasons ( and FWs ) the fact about OCing 32123S -> 40125S -> 48125W
is stronger than a thousend spoken words here :wink:
