I keep getting this error after it writes the DVD:
Writing Error: (3) Error closing DVD-R Track
The disc's PMA could not be updated (1049)
Error Sense Data: SENSE KEY: 3 ASC: 73 ASCQ: 4
I had the Liggy/Dee firmware 2.19 installed when it started, so I reverted to the original NEC 2.17 and still got the error.
So I then tried Liggy's 2.0A and turned off automatic speed detection and burned it at 2.0. That worked, but the computer rebooted after the DVD was burned, even though the checkbox to reboot wasn't checked. Then I tried it again with speed detection enabled and it failed, giving that same error. I've gone through about 4 or 5 discs so far (using Verbatim 16x DVD-R and CDBurnerXP Pro 3.0.116).
I'll try another one with the automatic speed detection turned off to see if that's it, but it used to burn at 4.0x without a problem. Could it be that the drive is dying? Maybe the software is bad? I had the latest CDBXPpro installed, but it was like a resource hog with all that database stuff, so I removed it after about 5 mintues and reinstalled 3.0.x. I think the newer version gave some error, now that I remember, and that's why I removed it. Maybe it left some junk around that's interfering with the older good version?
