Hi!

I’ve just recognized firmware 1.09 on the official NEC site:

http://www.de.nec.de/softwareoverview2.php/id/557

It is dated the 9th of november 2004 and has the same strategy version numbers as the 2510A 2.17 has… so the 2500A is up to date now

Yeah, the 2510 also had a new release. I hope herrie is looking into them

edit: hey, I don’t see ver 1.09.

same as 2f8

eric it’s all the way down at the bottom of the page.

#5

An official firmware for the NEC 2500 !
Thanks for the news.

#6

:Z Their web page doesn’t display properly with Opera :a

#7

Too bad it still doesn’t support bitsetting

#8

Hi!

If you want bitsetting and don’t care about DL-burning, you can just flash firmware 1.33 for the HP 420n model. It has pretty much the same strategy version numbers (OK, 1.38h instead of 1.38f for DVD+R) and it supports SL bitsetting without being patched or ‘unofficial’…

#9

It has the same strategy as the 1.09 or it is according to a previous firmware?

#10

It has the same as 1.09 but supports RICOHJPNR01 @4x only (1.09 @6x). Therefore you have ‘official’ bitsetting…

#11

Whats better then for the 2500, the Mad Dog 2.F8 firmware or this 1.09 official firmware?

#12

2.F8 has SL bitsetting and lot of new DL inside.

(NEC 1.09 has no SL bitsetting and no DL support.)

#13

Maddog 2.F8 supports both, bitsetting AND RICOHJPNR01 @6x (because its strategies are identical to 1.09, also +R), but it hasn’t been released so far. I don’t know where TDB or other people got it from, but it hasn’t been released on Maddogs webpage…
…it is also a DL-firmware, means, that it is for 2510A. If you need DL burning plus SL bitsetting, this one is right for you! But be aware this one has never officially been released, like modified firmwares from our hobby patchers here (who do great jobs, by the way! )…

#14

Not sure why it isn’t on the main Mad Dog website yet, but let me assure you that 2.F8 is definitely an official firmware.
Mad Dog Tech support is providing it to customers.

#15

lol At last… an offcial firmware for my Nec 2500, but i will keep my MD 2F8 firmware

#16

Where can i find the 2F8 firmware?
