20A4P in an external enclosure. (Usb)

The firewire locks my computer up. :a Why oxford 911+, but the 1394a connection on my Macally worked fine I don’t think it was oxford 911. Is there something I can do to this chip to make it to not conflict.

Also does this graph mean that the (USB) connection can’t hang?

BTW the only reason I am using this media is because all I have is YUDEN000T02 so I went to officemax & bought their on sale 16x to do tests with. I think this media used for anything else is :Z right?

Search for an prolific chipset update.

My Bytecc(ox 911) fw enclosure seems to work okay but tops out at 9x on my Windows computers, not sure about the Mac since speed isn’t shown when or after burning.

For the Macally?

This doesn’t make any sense though why is the usb faster than the 1394?? I am actually starting to get riled up about this slow firewire thing!

I/m going to RMA all of my external enclosures & just buy an ex. drive & call it a day if these manufacturers don’t improve these enclosures!!

Maybe it’s just your enclosure or your PC. Most people get more than 30MB/s over Firewire so there must be something wrong with your enclosure or your pc.

Just pointing out even though oxford 911 is considered good there are no guarantees.

I just RMA’d it got my Macally back & now can Hit 18x 1394.

BTW does anyone know which 1394 chipset is in the Macally PHC 500BC?

Sorry, only found fake reviews, no real info on them, even not on the mfg site.

The PHC 500BC has INITIO chipset. I just found out. I don’t know if I spelled that right. This chipset works great for me though.

Thanks for trying anyways though chef.
