The +R verb. azo are about the best discs for the price. With lots of other brands… it can be hit or miss… especially at B&M.

Also, FYI, don’t buy value brand dvd media. while the quality of the polycarbonate is about the same… but the all important substrate dyes are crap and won’t last. Verbatim’s built a loyal following with azo dye for a reason: it lasts and records with fewer errors.

The media that’s got free shipping right now includes the +R Azo 100-pack (95098), -R Azo 100-pack (95102), +R DL 2.4x 20- and 50-packs (95310 and 96577), and BD-R 4x 10-pack (96769). The DL 50-pack is already out of stock but the 20-pack is slightly cheaper per disc.

I ordered 2 of the +R 100 packs myself because of the free shipping. My only real fear would be getting life series disks and I would send them back unopened.

Don’t worry. New Egg doesn’t have a rep for mislabeling media and substituting inferoir products. When it says AZO, that’s what you’ll get. I’ve not seen Life Series advertised @ NE… smart consumers know the value brands are junk & will stay away from them.

I’m trying to shift away from dvds as data backup media in favor of blue ray… just need to find high quality low cost discs. $1 per 25gb is ok, but I KNOW they will do better sometime this year. If the verbatims were $1 per disc I’d buy those, but they’re more like $2 a disc.

I hope you are right, The Egg has always treated me great so I am sure things will work out either way.

Just FYI, I got MII +R shipped from NJ, and yes it was Azo as ordered.

#11

Just got mine, also 2x MII.

Yep, NewEgg and Amazon have been accurate about not mixing up the Life Series with the classic AZO. If the product described says AZO, then that is what you will get, no substitutions.

#13

Got my 200 today, -R AZO and the bonus MIT yea…

#14

Wish the Verbatim BD-R’s were cheaper… no reason why they can’t get the price down to about $1 per disk & push DL down to under $.50 per disc. Also, without some meaningful way to scan the discs for quality control and longevity anecdotals… verbatim can’t prove they’re worth the 40-50% premium vs a brand such as Optical Quantum.
