Hi ,
Would i get better performance using just the 2 x 1GB DDR2 OCZ Gold DDR800 = 2GB

Or

The 2 x 1GB DDR2 OCZ Gold DDR800 = 2GB + 2 x 512MB DDR2 667 = 3GB ?
Total System RAM = 3GB

I think i would have to run my OCZ 800 @ 677 To run it like that so i dont really know which would be best .

Any one have any tip or experience on

If the 667 memory is high quality like crucial ballistics, then it probably can run at 800Mhz. Your probably better off just using the 2x1GB set. I think that OCZ gold stuff doesn’t like to be mixed with other ram anyways.

Hi there,
eric93se is correct when he mentioned that OCZ RAM doesn’t like being mixed with any different brands etc but you should manage to get the 667Mhz modules to run at 800 as it clocks pretty stable

I have two of the OCZ Gold 2Gb Dual kits (2x1Gb) & an OCZ Gold 1Gb Dual kit (2x512Mb) which are both PC6400 & I’ve had them run well over the spec speed so you should be ok if it’s all OCZ?
