How did you get the audio off the vinyl album to the CD? If you first ripped it to your harddrive, was each track a separate file? Basically each file becomes a track on the CD, which you should be able to skip through with a cd-player. If it was burned in one go as one track, regardless if there are 100 2-second pauses between songs it still is one track.
The idea is quite simple: Record the songs you want to your harddrive as (for instance) wav. Each song is a new file. The drag the files to nero's Track Editor. If you want to get rid of the 2-second gaps (nero might add an extra 2 seconds between tracks, making it 4 seconds), use the Disc-At-Once option.
Hope this helps somewhat.
