weedougie, you are right. The whole global warming issue is mostly a scam to grab massive amounts of money through taxes, grants and media manipulation. The remainder is the environmental extremists using it as a way to advance their agenda through scare tactics. Al Gore is the poster child that proves the argument.
I have a BS in engineering and while this doesn’t make me an expert I have felt most of the logic used by global warming alarmists has never added up based on all the science and physics that has been crammed into my head. The ocean levels have risen HUNDREDS OF FEET since the last ice age and now we are freaking out over a rise of a few inches over the next several hundred years? The ocean levels are rising at a lower rate now than they have on average over the past 10,000 years or more. Also, we are finding that the Sun has a major impact on the climate much more than previously thought and in ways we could not have imagined before many of the new probes and satellites have been deployed in the past 5-10 years. We now think the fluctuations in the solar wind can effect climate to a great degree through how much cosmic radiation it allows us to receive. Through all this global warming hype the doomsayers have ignored the fact that Mars is experiencing warming right in lockstep with the Earth. Now what is the most major thing that Earth and Mars have in common? Could it be the Sun? Think about how they have keyed on CO2 emissions. Why do you think that was done? Could it be because they could tie it to the use of fossil fuels and this gave governments a venue to tax the hell out of us? If they keyed on water vapor, cosmic rays, solar cycles etc. how could they justify raping us with new taxes? Are they going to tax the creator of the Universe?
The thing that makes me angry over this is that one day we might really be facing a huge man made threat and because we have heard the so called “scientists” cry wolf so much we will ignore them when we shouldn’t. If we do actually enter a global cooling phase then the damage to the general reputation of, and trust in, science will be massive. IMO, it will be well deserved.
