2 Different G05's? Different Write Speeds

First spindle of G05’s burned fine @8x with an available 12x which I chose not to use. The second spindle of G05’s has a maximum write availability of 4x.
Can anyone explain?? (The first media code is a burned disc, not blank) Anyway, here’s the media code from the first spindle…

Thanks

I had the same prob’s with arita ritec’s g05.

1st pack burnt fine second lot only burnt at 4X I bought them ftom rambox is this where you bought your one’s.

After alot of phone calles I found that the pioneer 108 only would allow up to 12X on certain batches you can tell the batces by looking at the printed number on the inner ring of the disk. If you use a hacked firmware like neil’s you will get up to 16X although I would stick to a max of 12X.

Pioneer showed no interest in the problem neither did ritek and rambox did not offer an exchange or my money back.

I’m going to order some 8X braded official Ritek from another supplier to see if I still get prob’s.

I installed NIL’s hacked firmware and burned at 8x with no problems, got another great KProbe scan. I bought the DVD’s locally in Toronto.
Accidentally burned at 16x, here’s the scan result!!

G05@16x on DVR108 NIL’s 1.14FW

Looks good for 16X to me, well within the DVD standards… Plus very low PIF errors
