$2.99 50 Pack Sony 48X CDRs Any Good?

I went to Best Buy today and saw a 50 pack of Sony 48X CDRs for $2.99 after rebates. These disks were made in Taiwan. I read somewhere that they are made by Sony. Does anyone know about these or has used them. Who makes them? If Sony, are they any good or close to Taiyo Yuden(TY)?

Would it be better for me to wait for the Fuji 50 pack 48Xs made in Japan by TY. I know that Best Buy brings them for $2.99 every 2-3 weeks.

Thanks
Mike

They most likely are made by either Sony or Ritek,
but hey, c’mon, you will lose nothing but gain your experience/knowledge if you buy those.
Or just wait for the FUJIs if you like.

They’re probably made by Lead Data ( :Z ) using stampers supplied by Sony.

Sure they are OK, I’ve got those as Benqs :

ATIP: 97m 22s 67f
Disc Manufacturer: Acer Media Technology, Inc.
Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine)
Media type: CD-Recordable
Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown
nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849)

Funny enough, you sounded rather skeptical once talking about Benq/Acer CDRs.
Do you recall your former reaction ? > BenQ Media

Here’s a CDDoctor scan < quite acceptable, I guess.
