I asked this question in firmware forum, but didn't get too much answers...
Few days ago I bought Lite-on 167T DVD-ROM drive. As usual, I went to the official web page to download latest fw version, 9S19. But when I started the flasher, I got this error message:
No matched drive detected!
This utility is only for LITE-ON DVD SOHD 167T drive.
1-0-0-0 E:LITE-ON DVD SOHD-167T 9IS1
Funny, isn't it?
After changing all kind of settings (IDE drivers, master/slave position) nothing worked for me.
Interesting is that my fw version is 9IS1, which is not listed on Liteon firmware page. I checked flashROM type and device with KProbe, and they are identical to other 167T drives.

I know that I can use flashfix and other tools to put newest fw into my drive, but I want to ask on this forum first just to be sure.
