165P6S DW-G120A Audio CDR Writing Error

Howdy,

I am trying to burn an audio CD from a cue/wav image using Nero 6.6.0.14 and my DW-G120A. Every time I attempt to burn the disc, I get an 'invalid block address' error message from Nero at the 69% mark.

This disc is part of a 4CD set that I downloaded via torrent. Each disc was compressed using Monkey’s Audio. All 4 discs decompress without errors.
I’ve done simulation burns of the other discs in the set and they also give me the ‘invalid block address’ Nero error message during the burning process.

I have upgraded the firmware of the DW-G120A from MYS4 to MYS6 and still get the same error.

I have used both high end TY media and low end Verbs from Taiwan when attempting to burn this 4CD set. Both media types give me the same error.

I’ve heard that the DW-G120A is not well suited for burning audio CD-Rs.
I presume that the DW-G120A is the culprit, and would like to know if there is anything do to correct the problem?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Milan

This disc is part of a 4CD set that I downloaded via torrent.
You will have to give us more information as to the content of this 4 CD set.

I’d suggest buying the original  :cop:

Very funny guys!

Let me say up front that this set is a 4CD FAN MADE compilation of unreleased rehearsals of Prince 1987 Sign O The Time Tour. I spend thousands of dollars on official releases every year. I’m not into pirating official releases as I like to have the original artwork and lyric books etc.

I’ve read on the comment section of the torrent that other fans have had no problem burning this CD using the cue sheet and wav image. Must be my DW-G120A causing the problem.

Here is the information on the unofficial non-pirate 4CD Prince set that I am trying to burn.

Thanks in advance for any assistance given!

Burning instructions

To burn onto audio CDrs, please follow these simple directions:

  1. Copy folder on your HDD and turn the *.ape file to *.wav into the
same directory by using Monkey’s Audio sofware (grab it freely from
    http://www.monkeysaudio.com/).

  2. Once you have a *.wav file, delete the *.ape file from the folder
so that the burning software does not mess up with it.

  3. Use the *.cue file as an ‘image file’ and burn it with your
favourite software. Every *.cue file contains CD-text information.

Thanks for being interested in our releases.
Please reshare, never sell them.

  • 4DaFunk Team -

Well, if you managed to burn 3 of these 4 discs successfully, then it is not the drive, that is to be blamed.

Michael
P.S.: you should remove that torrent link, as this might violate the rules.

If someone could please reccomend a good freeware program to burn this simple cue/wav set, I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

Milan

None of the discs have burned successfully Michael.

Thanks,

Milan

Okay, then I misunderstood. Try Burrrn. Or install latest update for your Nero version.

ExactAudioCopy is good for burning Audio CDs from a CUE sheet.

If the CUE sheet references APE files (instead of WAV files) it will even burn directly without having to decompress the APE files first. The decompression speed will be limited by your system however; my 2.8GHz P4 system can only burn at 16x with APE on-the-fly decompression without buffer under-runs.

Howdy,

It turns out that the cue sheets distributed with this set were incorrect. New cue sheets were made available yesterday. I was able to burn all 4 CDs with no problems. Thankfully, my burner was not the culprit.
