Why write an 8x disc @ 4x ?

#3

Your version of Nero is old and you should update it. The latest version 6 is 6.6.1.4

#4

Reinstall or repair nero.

Try burning at 8x or 12x with overspeeding on.

#5

The Plextor drive and one hard drive don’t run withj DMA on.
Try disconnecting the Plex drive and set DMA on to the hard drive.

#6

Disc Manufacturer: TYG02 -

It it a genuine Taiyo Yuden. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=112854

I’m really glad too see a good teamwork. All comments from our knowledgeable members are all spot on! I will summarize and add more info.

Recorder: <BENQ DW1650 DD DVD>Version: BCFC - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.6.0.13
Nice, does this BCFC firmware originally came with your drive?

DiskPeripheral : WDC WD400BB-00AUA1 IdeChnDr Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On
DiskPeripheral : ST380011A IdeChnDr Port 0 ID 1 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : BENQ DVD DD DW1650 IdeChnDr Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On
CdRomPeripheral : PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1210A IdeChnDr Port 1 ID 1 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : PW2315O CCL129X 2.0B vaxscsi Port 2 ID 0 DMA: Off
Try to turn DMA On if applicable. See here: Troubleshooting: Enabling/Checking DMA in Windows XP, 2000, Me, 9x

Nero Version: 6.6.0.13
Update to the latest: 6.6.1.4. Click here: http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php

Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)
Media (medium) problem. Check if your TYG02 is real or fake. A real TYG02 has a serial “GG00xxxx” and a four digit batch number on the hub ring. See attachment.

Uninstall Intel Application Accelerator from your box and forget it ever existed. Restart and use standard M$ IDE channel drivers.
IAA might once been good but it’s just crap when it comes to optical drives.

Hi Zevia, thanks for the input.

However I’m not sure what you’re getting on about the BCFC firmware…are you saying it’s really good or are you just being sarcastic? :stuck_out_tongue:

Also thanks to all who replied, I did a fresh install of XP and everything seems to be working nicely now. fingers crossed :iagree:

#10

Sorry about that. When you first posted (1 week ago according to cdfreaks time) the firmware BCFC is not out yet. BCFC was out 4 days ago. So did you get the drive with BCFC installed or you flashed the drive with BCFC? That was the question.

#11

Oh I see…

I got the drive with BCFC already installed.

Thanks again for your help.
