1640 disc quality scan issue

The issue is that a disc burned on my BenQ 1640 gives a worse quality scan result (but not much worse) when scanned on the drive that made it than it does when scanned on my NEC 3520.

The BenQ 1640:

The NEC 3520:

Is this difference within limits and normal, or is it something to be concerned about?

Hi
The differences are that great, so no cause to worry. However scans by Nec tend not to be all that, hence most users will choose a Liteon or BenQ for scanning. If you want to scan with your Nec, select 5x to get a fairer comparison.

  1. All drives report differently, sometimes with huge differences (it’s not the case here)
  2. PIE/PIF scanning is not an accurate method, far from it
  3. The errors are not on the disc but are generated by the drive while reading the disc
  4. The ‘difference’ between these two scans, quality-wise, is totally negligible.

That’s what I needed to know.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the answers.
