I have a pioneer 107D which takes around 15 minutes to burn a dvd-r at 4x. However, when I burn at 8x it takes about 13 minutes. Can anybody explain to me why this?
what program are you using to write?
I'm using Nero 6.3.0 to burn with. Also using Datasafe x8 DVD-r media. Nero picks up the 8 speeds discs okay, but still takes 13 minutes to burn a full dvd.
does it actually write at 8x or can you only select it. You might need to update your firmware so that your media is supported
I have two Pioneer 107D's in my machine. I have updated the firmware on one to 1.13. The other I have left alone at the moment. Nero picks up the writers okay, reads the discs as 8x. It also says "burning at 8 speed" while burning. So I dont think its anything simple.
From memory, I believe there was a bug in Nero 6.3.0.x.
I'm using 188.8.131.52 and it seems fine.
Cheers KennyC, that sorted my problem. Updated Nero to latest version and now burning 8x in 8~9 minutes.
Thanks again, Roadkill
