115D does not erases DVD+RW

Hello to everyone,

Does anyone has the problem with erasing DVD+RW? I got 115D - FW 1.18. Media Type is

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+RW:MKM-A02-000]

Disc & Book Type : [DVD+RW] - [DVD+RW]
Manufacturer Name : [Mitsubishi Kagaku Media]
Manufacturer ID : [MKM]
Media Type ID : [A02]
Product Revision : [Not Specified]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,295,104 Sectors = 4.70 GB (4.38 GiB)]
Recording Speeds : [1x-2.4x , 1.6x-4x]

[ DVD Identifier V5.0.1 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]

But Nero 6.0 and InfraRecorder defines this media as DVD-RAM and doesn’t allow to erase it :frowning: Record were burnt with those soft at Pio 115D - FW 1.06

May be someone knows how to fix this bug. Thanks

PS - Just tryed to burn a disc with new firmware (1.18) on the same media, it’s still does not erase the data and defines DVD+RW as DVD-RAM.

I don’t think that is “a bug” within the drive at all.

Is Alcohol, Daemon Tools or any other Virtual drive installed?

Agree with chef. :iagree:

Adding, if LightScribe is installed unistall this to start with.

Yes, I got Alcohol, BUT on my laptop with Optiarc AD 7530B it’s also installed and records burned with pio 115D are recognisible and can be erased.

So may be, let’s call it a firmware bug? But anyway, I will try and uninstall what You said, and will post here a comment if anything will help.

In Alcohol, please uncheck “hide cd/dvd media” and then please try again.

Hi Again,

It worked out, Actually option was in Emulation menu and called “Ignore Media Type” after unchecking this, Pio began erasing my media. Thanks Chef
