Sony's cheap Playstation TV console hits the FCC

Sony's $99.99 Playstation TV device has hit the FCC. The Playstation TV with FCC ID VTE1001 is a small 110 grams weighing device that can be used to stream and download Playstation games and has been scheduled to launch at October 14th this year.

The small Bluetooth and Wifi equipped console can play most of the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation One and PSP games.The Playstation TV also has a feature called Remote Play which allows you to stream Playstation 4 games from a PS4 to another TV that's connected to the Playstation TV. From the image below it appears the device has an expected ethernet port and HDMI output on the backside.myce-playstation-tv-2

It's also PlayStation Now ready,  available later this year,  PlayStation Now will give access to an expanding library of PS3 games to stream directly to PlayStation TV. Also movies, TV shows, music (download, rent, or stream)  from the PlayStation Store, Music Unlimited or other entertainment apps can be watched or listened to on the device.
