    Wow.
There called "Freaks" , hence the name of this website, they dont care to actually burn something, just go out and waste money on any blank they can get there mitt's on!
    i'll admit it's addicting!
You think pioneer reads this?, maybe, but they do there own testing i'm sure.

    Burned at 8x with Pioneer 115D 1.18

Burns much better than my TYs, I think this'll be my primary choice for media from now on

Don't be put off by any one poster, most of us appreciate what you are trying to do and I think is shows. This 115D is one of the best burners out there, the best that I have had and I have had a few. Unfortunately there are people out there that want the world, want it now and want it for free and can be rude if they dont' get it. You'll never please them.

    MID: RiTEKF1 (TDK branded)
    Type: DVD-R 16x rated (18x in firmware)
Burned with: CD Speed 4.7.7.5 Create disc
    Burned 16x
    Burn time: 5' 50''
    Write Strategy; default
    Pre-burn calibration: 30''
    Drive/Firmware: DVR-115D@115 /1.18_T2

Compare this burn with one on my oldish BenQ DW1640.

Decent burn for this cheap media. To bad TDK heading toward crap MID's.

Okay guys, FordMan was aiming at the 6x CAV write strategie (as in his recent posts...)Thanks FordMan, taking us all this long.

MID: MKM001 (Verbatim branded, MIS) not the best batch, me thinks.
Type: DVD+R9 2.4x rated (8x max in firmware)
Burned with: CD Speed 4.7.7.5 Create disc
    Burned 6x (CAV)
    Burn time: 19'20''
    Write Strategy; MKM001@003
    Pre-burn calibration: 29''
    Drive/Firmware: DVR-115D@115 /1.18_T2 my thanks to ala42
Testing 6x CAV write strategy again, FordMan, think you got your 6xCAV write srategy here.

I'm guessing that the Pioneer DVR-215 has this same 4X-only CLV limitation on dual layer media since the DVR-115 does. I wish Brad from Pioneer or another Pioneer person would let us know why they removed 6X CLV.

    Regards,
    FordMan
Sorry to go slightly OT, tried S203B MKM003@10x, as expected start with 6x and fast going higher with ZCLV. The 7203S wrote the MKM003@6x with ZCLV too.
Still have to try with the 212.

Isn't that a sceenshot of 6x CLV? And isn't that what FordMan was trying to get--CLV for 6x DL burns? I'm confused.

Pioneer drives aren't meant for scanning and will give absurd results. I recommend getting a liteon or a benq for quality scanning
