There called "Freaks" , hence the name of this website, they dont care to actually burn something, just go out and waste money on any blank they can get there mitt's on!Quote:I just dropped in here to look at some scans, perhaps have some discussion with the locals, and I discovered this.
Do my eyes deceive me, or did you guys just run off a representative of a major company, who was offering to have you participate in the development and improvement of their product? Thus giving you BETTER BURNERS?
Wow.
i'll admit it's addicting!
You think pioneer reads this?, maybe, but they do there own testing i'm sure.

Don't be put off by any one poster, most of us appreciate what you are trying to do and I think is shows. This 115D is one of the best burners out there, the best that I have had and I have had a few. Unfortunately there are people out there that want the world, want it now and want it for free and can be rude if they dont' get it. You'll never please them.Quote:Btw: If that is your attitude, then truly I am sorry I bothered to post you that information, and I will keep it to myself in future.

MID: RiTEKF1 (TDK branded)
Type: DVD-R 16x rated (18x in firmware)
Burned with: CD Speed 4.7.7.5 Create disc
Burned 16x
Burn time: 5' 50''
Write Strategy; default
Pre-burn calibration: 30''
Drive/Firmware: DVR-115D@115 /1.18_T2
Compare this burn with one on my oldish BenQ DW1640.
Decent burn for this cheap media. To bad TDK heading toward crap MID's.

nekrosoft13, for sure you should, latest Pio's are some of the best burners since Nexperia retired from the DVDRW scene.
Okay guys, FordMan was aiming at the 6x CAV write strategie (as in his recent posts...)Thanks FordMan, taking us all this long.Quote:Originally Posted by FordManpinto2's can of his DVR-115 drive at least indicates that the limitation is not present only in the DVR-212...
MID: MKM001 (Verbatim branded, MIS) not the best batch, me thinks.

Hey, wow!
Thanks pinto2!
Sorry to go slightly OT, tried S203B MKM003@10x, as expected start with 6x and fast going higher with ZCLV. The 7203S wrote the MKM003@6x with ZCLV too.Quote:Thanks, if you get time to check the Samsung and Optiarc, that would be appreciated since I really would like to find a drive that does true 6X CLV recording for dual layer.
...
I'm guessing that the Pioneer DVR-215 has this same 4X-only CLV limitation on dual layer media since the DVR-115 does. I wish Brad from Pioneer or another Pioneer person would let us know why they removed 6X CLV.
Regards,
FordMan
Still have to try with the 212.

Isn't that a sceenshot of 6x CLV? And isn't that what FordMan was trying to get--CLV for 6x DL burns? I'm confused.Quote:nekrosoft13, for sure you should, latest Pio's are some of the best burners since Nexperia retired from the DVDRW scene.
