Now swiss filesharing users also threatened by complaints

This time the music industry seems to have started their fight against piracy all over the world. Shortly after reporting about complaints in Germany and several other countries, we must now read that also users in Switzerland are affected.

The Swiss IFPI, their local music industry association has announced to start legal action against "music pirats" without previous warnings. This time also consumers will be affected, "Der Bund" reports. The unauthorised usage of musicfiles is not a peccadillo, especially considering the background of a 15% sales decrease in 2003.

After a big campaign against the disregards of copyrights, ignorance will not be an excuse anymore, the report explains. If piracy does not decrease, the Swiss IFPI will take legal action. Anyone who continues sharing, will be exposed to the full extent of laws, the association warns.

I hope peccadillo is the correct translation for what is meant. It's a little surprising that this action will take place in Switzerland. For many years people there felt safe, not to fear legal action because of piracy. But now, only a few week after Sharereactor has been taken down, filesharing users are affected.

Feel free to discuss the wave of complaints against
filesharing users in our Music Downloads, P2P & Legal Issues Forum.
