PC Watch: Plextor will launch external version of SCSI drive


Via our Plextor forum Kenshin lets us know that according to the Japanese PC Watch website, Plextor will launch an external version of their new 40/12/40X SCSI drive. The 'PX-W4012TSE' external SCSI Plextor drive will cost about 33.000 Yen ($275) and will be using the Ultra SCSI (SCSI-3) interface.



The PX-W4012TSE will support buffer under run prevention function "BURN-Proof", "PoweRec-II" and the next generation packet light/write standard "Mt. Rainier".

Dimensions of the drive will be 181x308.5x59.4mm (width x depth x height) and will weigh 2.6kg. As for the software Nero Burning Rom and InCD are part of the package.

According to the Japanese PC Watch the new Plextor drive will be available during February 2003. You can of course discuss Plextor and their products in our Plextor Forum.
