Hello All,

I am having a slightly annoying issue when trying to burn 360 backups from an image.

I have a Pioneer DVR-115DBK linked to my computer via USB using a HDD caddy that I have. Heres the steps I take:
  1. Computer recognises DVD RW drive
  2. I load Clone CD, and select burn image from file
  3. Load Verbatim Branded disk into Writer, Select 1X burn speed and click Burn.
  4. Clone CD begins its process, it Writes LeadIn and then it appears to freeze. Elapsed time goes up, but progress bar stays at zero, and nothing is written to disk. Green light on DVD drive is constantly illuminated.
  5. The only option I have is to eject disk, at which point it is inusable.
I know process im following is ok, because when I try the same process using the internal DVD RW in my laptop, the image burns with no issues, the only problem is that game doesnt work because my laptop only hasa basic writer in it.

Can anyone please confirm the following?:

Is the Pioneer DVR-115DBK a suitable drive for burning 360 images?

Also,

Could the fact that I am not using a specific DVD/CD ROM caddy cause an issue?

There are a number of other Pioneer 11x drives on ebay, and if someone could recommend another from experience, I dont mind just buying a different one.

Thanks in advance

Otis

I know the 116D works as I use one. Also don't burn at x1 select x4 plus regardless of you selecting x1 the drive won't burn at x1 or even if it did which I pretty sure it won't it would take over 1 1/2 hours to burn, that's jsut crazy talk. I pretty sure the slowest +R media burns at is x2.4.

The Pioneer 112,115,116 burn Xbox 360 games fine!. I also use these drives external and i beleive because you have these drives external thru USB your having the problem. First of all if your going to use a Pioneer 115 External thru USB the external case better have a NEC chip set or forget it. I have 10 in total Pioneer drives external but i use 10 of the same external cases for all of them and there hard to find today and the case is a "SYBA 5.25" Aluminum Enclosure model # SD-U2PLA-525 ( NEC Chipset). I have like 15 of them and there hard to find because there discontinued but you can still get them for like $20.00. There also great cases for running Plextor 716A, 760's external also. They also burn Xbox 360 games and movies no problem. The Pioneers i have i have firmware flashed them to "L" for buffalo firmware. It's not the 115 drive my friend. Trust me you can't just throw a drive in any old external case and expect it to work top notch. BTW use Xbox Backup Creator to make Xbox 360 games. Also to burn at 1x is crazy. 2.4x at min. I burn at 4x and i use only Verbatium MIS DL discs. Have fun!. BTW you talk about having problems burning the ISO.....Tell me what your using to make the ISO this would interest me too!, Some games are Wave 2 or 3. Five years and still no ban on Xbox Live
