| 4.7.7.15 is generally performing quite well in my rig so far, has more or less allowed me to finally leave version 4.60 behind. I don't know if this is asking too much but does anyone else want a optional permanent DVDROM auto-booktyping feature in future versions of CD-Speed like in Nero itself? It has always been one of my top wished for features. Thx again for this great tool.

| Hmmm... I had rather expected to see 4.7.7.16 by now per Erik's earlier post. A problem must have popped up.

| Sorry for the delay. A drive manufacturer had some very urgent requests which had to be implemented first. The new version is being tested now so it should not take too long.

BTW, @Erik: I was glad to see that the latest available version (4.7.7.15) finally calculated the Quickscan averages right again. Didn't think of thanking you then, well, better late than never: thanks!

| I'm confused about the latest 4.7.7.15; the release notes suggest it supports HD DVD, but my HP HD-100 HD DVD drive (USB 2.0) is not listed in the drop-down w/my other drives. Does CD-DVD Speed not work with USB drives? Or am I missing some key software that should allow it to work? I wanted to check an HD DVD for bad sectors and suprised my drive's not even listed... |

| Hi Eric ![]() I have just bought a LITE-ON SATA Model LH-20A1S, I was hoping to use this drive for scanning but as I have read (and tested) the jitter stops at the layer break. Is this something you might be working on or should I just dump the drive and get something else? Thanks |

| I just encountered serious problems when trying to perform CD-R DQ tests with my LiteOn SOHR-5239V CD-RW drive. CD Speed (4.7.7.15, 4.7.7.5) hangs when the DQ test is finished and I have to reboot the PC to get everything working correctly again. The drive is connected as Sec. Master @the SiL 0680 ATA controller. I thought that maybe the card is the problem but my other LiteOn DVD-RW drives connected via the same controller are working without any problem (also with CD-Rs). Does anyone have the same problems? /Edit: An older CD Speed version (4.0.6) hangs before the test starts

| Could it be your drive that's the culprit? If your other drives work fine and the "test" doesn't work with 3 versions of CDSpeed then I would look at the drive. Maybe a fresh f/w flash might help. good luck.... .....gm

| I don't think that the drive causes the problem. Also there are no problems when doing a quality test with that drive using kprobe

| H3rB3i, this can happen if CDSpeed tries to do a jitter scan and the drive does not support it. Make sure that Jitter is disabled in the DQ Advanced dialog and try again.

| it doesn't make a difference if Jitter DVD is enabled or not, Jitter CD is disabled by default.

| TRT Bug in CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.15? Im not completely sure, but it seems like that CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.15 has some bug (at least) when doing a TRT scan with LiteOn SHM-165H6S (HS0E). I noticed it when I did a very good burn ( under 13000 PIE, 226 PIF) on this drive from a known good batch and just did a TRT after that. The scan showed some spikes which I could not quite believe. To be sure it was not due to drive overheating, I let the drive and DVD cool down for 15 minutes (and opened the window, it's snowing out there right now ), made sure again there were no load-consuming processes running on the computer and did again a TRT. This time the scan was even worse, giving me some real bad spikes, causing the drive to do some focus-searching like noise!Instantly after this scan has been done, I saved it and opened CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.5 and did again a TRT. And there - it shows a perfectly curve with no flaws (as expected by the good QualityScan before!). I noticed some scans before that especially when reaching reading speeds beyond 14x, the TRT in CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.15 did some spikes on some scans few days before. I thought that it was because of lesser media quality or even media degrading. But it seems like that there is a bug in CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.15! I also checked the options, they are identical for CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.5 and CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.15 on my computer. I attached the scan and TRTs. Please Erik, could you have a look at this? Many thanks in advance! (And thanks in general for your great tool!) Megodin

| Argh... thanks, I was just readin the posts in the last page... Was just too excited letting you all know about this bug rather than reading hours through many posts before... ![]() Sorry for double-posting! Nevertheless, maybe this issue can be noted on CDSpeed2000.com download homepage also along with the possibility to download a previous stable version regarding this issue? Just before Erik has time to have a look to this and hopefully fix it!

Any chance of having the error averages shown on the main screen for ADQ scans (as with the standard disc quality test)? Many thanks, fantastic utility. |
