Hej BoSkin
Now you got it messed up... And yes, I know how-to uninstall it "manually".

My originally post:
Code:
Hmm, I just messed up my WinXP Pro partition. Uninstalled Kprobe2,
got message; could not delete reg.files...
Kprobe 1.1.29 still "working" though, but nowhere to uninstall it any more.
BTW, I´m using RegClean 4.x and Registry First Aid.

Yes, I've already read it. It seems to me you sing what you see.

I just encountered the same +RW problem. Erased a disc. Burned it. Scans in KP1. Fails to scan in KP2. Doesn't work with either ASPI or SPTI, doesn't work with earlier betas. Strange...

code65536, I think it´s on time to start a Kprobe2 bugs thread.

BTW, I get this when minimizing Kprobe2 to taskbar.

What about the window's contents? When moving the window it
(the contents) don't get moved as well.
How is it called in English? "Show window-contents when moving
the window"?

It's a pity, 'coz this was a handy feature.
I want to second that!!

My first experiences have been mixed- I had some problems getting a scan of a CD on my LTR48246S, but it seems to work now, with essentially identical results to KProbe(1). I don't recall doing anything special to make it work, though. An interesting facet is that it will show DVD manfacturers in a DVD-ROM (e.g. LTD163).

The coexistance with KProbe(1) goes so far that I could scan 2 different disks simultaneously with the 2 tools. Double your pleasure...

A very useful extension would be to save separate settings for scanning CD(R)s and DVD(R)s and/or for each drive present. I prefer to scan CDR's at maximum speed, and this is not normally a useful choice for DVD's. (I mailed Karr about this).

Also in 2.0.1, the issue with uninstall has been addressed, please report back any further problems.

Based on experience and discussions with the author, I think I will recommend using the ASPI driver for most circumstances.

SPTI may be a necessity for some folks with external drives or other driver issues, but ASPI is more stable IMHO, and has fewer problems with drive commands and such.

YMMV

using KProbe vers 2.0.1 - when scanning a cmc mag r01 + dvd burned at 2x, read at speed 4, PI @ 8, PO @ 1, i get a servo error 030900 after LBA xxxxx at 99.9% of the disk read. plus the disk continues to be read, very slowly - with zero additional PI and PO errors.

same disk KProbe vers. 1 read fine.

Is the disc not closed, multisession or anything else out of the ordinary? How much data?

normally i use clonedvd or nero recode 2 for my burning, but for this disk i used intervideo dvd copy 2 platinum - it never finalized and closed my disk properly after burning....so therefore, the servo error.

thanks rdgrimes for quick response.

I have to use SPTI with my USB2.0 external drive...otherwise it's not listed...

Another bug? Maybe because i use a LiteON DVD-ROM and not burner.

The remove the singular point shouldn't remove from the graph those isolated spikes that ruin all the Y axis detail?

And a note. With Kprobe2, if we use ECC 8/8 with my graphs, the PO exceeds the values of the PI.

Maybe those who use LiteON DVD-ROMS(and i know many users) should stick with Kprobe 1.29 and leave the Kprobe 2 to those with burners?

Cause i find it odd to have PO>PI

Using DVD Readers instead of DVD writers will product unrelieable results. I always ignore someones results with a DVD reader.

though your scans dont look bad you sure you dont have a combo drive ive seen some of those work ok because you can control the read speed.

also the spikes are only removed from a certain chipset bug..for most of us the singular remove does nothing. to manually remove spikes just right click and use remove highest error.
