| Re: Warner drops HDDVD This could be a crippling blow to HD DVD. Of the two competing formats, I always preferred HD DVD, since it has less drm, but I don't see them coming through this very well. |

| Re: Warner drops HDDVD In the HD forums with same story........ i already see the same movies in both formats so i think eventually they all will be going that way. They will hurt themselves if they don't. |

| Re: Warner drops HDDVD I don't use any just for this reason, I just upconvert my dvd's to 720p is all I need and until HD-DVD loses all the porn industries then I know HDDVD will be here for many years yet!

| Re: Warner drops HDDVD This whole switch reeks of something to me. Anyone that knows anything at all about Sony's recent history at the very least and the DRM on Blu-ray would have to chose HD-DVD. Unfortunately, it seems not only is the avg. consumer really confused still, but that the consumer in large part has no say (from appearances) in this 'war." I hope the consumer will start boning up on why Blu-ray isn't a good idea (from the two reasons I named), but with the great amount of apathy around, I don't know if that can be counted on.

| Re: Warner drops HDDVD I think this is worth a read, although it doesn't appear it's been independently substantiated that I can tell. Unfortunately, it does fit Sony's SOP these days (see the internal link in the article about the alleged payoff to Warner Bros.). I personally believe it's very probable, although I'd give some good $$ to prove it (if I had it, that is).

| Re: Warner drops HDDVD I would not be to worried over this. It's far from being over. You have to remember that there is absolutely no difference between these two technologies except that Blu-ray can store more. As far as the quality aspect is concerned it boils down to the time and cost restraints in re-mastering and the quality of the source they were working from. ![]()
