'Operation Payback' DDoS attacks: a summary of events so far.

The recent saga between the RIAA, MPAA, Aiplex, and 4Chan started the same way any internet war does. No, not flaming - DDoS attacks. They're a bit worse. But who started it, and who's going to end it?

While the DDos attacks may be illegal, the unfortunate fact is the MPAA will most likely not be prosecuted although they should. IF the MPAA thinks a site is distrubiting material illegaly, they should foll the legal procedures for taking the site down, not resorting to hiring another company to illegally take them down. In doing so they broke the law and have caused a war on the internet that will cause even more problems. The MPAA should be investigated by the FBI and punished. Regardless of what they think, the MPAA is not a law enforcement agency and has no right to do what they have done. People should see them for the bullies they are and they should be investigated and punished to the full extent of the law, as they demand of those they accuse of file sharing.

Tis speaks real highly of the integrity of Dan Glickman, the former cabinet member and Congressman who heads the MPAA - NOT! As the MPAA experiences the wrath, I hope they grasp how their silly attempt to ratchet things up is going to cost them dearly.
