Re: Epson unveils a prototype projector using an LED light source i see that LEd lights are becoming more and more populair. like changing the traffic lights in Belgium with led type lamps. if these projectors have enough ansi lumens, i see a "bright" futre ahead!

Re: Epson unveils a prototype projector using an LED light source Yes I agree this is a good thing. Even here in my small town in Canada we have replaced all our street lights with LED's cause they are cheaper. I hope that this comes to market and is not super expensive, cause it would make upgrading the tv so much cheaper Then I can actually read what I am typing cause a 36" TV as your monitor is not always the greatest for small type :P

Re: Epson unveils a prototype projector using an LED light source Even some cars have LED lights now, VW beeing an example. I don't know if they use it for the all set, but believe so and the intensity for the long range front lights require a lot of "power" and it could maybe fit the projector needs. Considering this, projector prices could become much lower...depending on manufacturers decisions and marketing blabla not deciding to say that the involved technology and research costs impose higher prices.

Re: Epson unveils a prototype projector using an LED light source I was planning to buy a lamp projector but I think I'll wait till this is released. It looks good because LED bulbs last LONGER that standard bulbs, and they're cheaper. BTW BMW has been also using LED in the rare of their cars for a long time: Stop lights and blinkers
