I set 6x since I didn't see this thread yet, otherwise I would have used 4x.

It absolutely crawled in the first layer, I was lucky to get 1x and then it jumped right to 6x on the other layer?

DW1650 not DW1655 but should be virtually the same.

It seems not all MKM001 provides great burns, or the 1655 doesn't have a well-developed write strategy for it (but I don't know, just speculation). Might WOPC have helped this burn had it been on?

After reading your Pioneer 111 burn, seems that at 748 PIF and the burn you got that the 111 may be the way to go for that DL.

MKM 001 burns by DW1655, 4x CLV, using MKM 003 strategy.

Four discs from pack B.

Observe the similarities in error distributions within the pack, and the differences from pack A above.

lot higher PIE on 2nd layer on 2nd pack, with curiously lower PIF in several cases, with jitter % curiously higher than 1st pack on 2 burns. How strange, as I would have thought this mid would be improving a little on each burn, or at least staying close to the same between burns.

I am wondering if this firmware fixed the burn speed with Verbatim MKM 001?

My first forray into DL media. This is Verbatim 2.4x media purchased from OfficeMax. I used all the default settings on my 1655 and burned at 2.4x using NeroExpress. Nothing to write home about, but acceptable I guess.

Do DW1650 DL scans go here?

First DL burn, Verbatim MKM 001, BCIC stock (I think), 2.4x, SB on/on and WOPC on.

PiE really climbs in that first layer, PiF was low until approach of layer change -- I guess this is an okay burn? I'll test in a finicky Panasonic...

The disc I burned (above) plays fine in my Panasonic A320. I guess it was a good burn...

i don't know why i'm getting fixation error on 1655 when i tried to burn the verbatim 2.4x DL that I just bought from BB

so I burnt with Lite-On SHM-160P6S instead then scanned with 1655
after comparing with the results above, i'm not satisfied with the burn quality at all.

I saw some burning MKM 001 with MKM 003 strategy...how can I do that?

should I re-burn this disc again?....but 1 DL costs me more than a bucks man...
