Geno888, I'm guessing that the high Pie areas are caused by WOPC...

Q.
I'm rather confused

This disc came from the same box, but PIE are good, whereas PIF total are higher. Both were burned with WOPC on.

The only difference between these two discs is that This disc was burned with cd-dvd speed 4.0.1, whereas this was burned with dvd decrypter.

I'll try these discs with solidburn on for know media. Anoter try will be a burn with liteon 1693.

What about burning @4x?

F/W: BSLB
Burned 8X by DVD Decrypter
All the default setting on QSuite (WOPC ON, O/S off, Solid burn on/off etc)

TY + & - media.

Which makes me wonder, which one is suppose to be better burn? I know both are good burns but makes me wonder.... The dash got a little higher score and it has a lot more PIE errors. The plus has much less PIE but more PIF. The result on most of my burns are generally like this so makes me wonder if my BenQ likes the Plus or Minus media better...

Media: Ridisc 4x DVD+R, 50er from nierle.de (17€)
Mediacode: RICOHJPN R01 (002)
Burner: Benq DW 1640 FW BSLB
Burnspeed possible: 16x
Burnspeed selected: 12x
WOPC: ON
Solidburn: ON for known media/ON for unknown
Overspeeding: ON
BURN Number with this media: 2

So, I skipped the 8x burn and jumped from 4x to 12x.
It's MUCH better than the first (4x) one. (http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=780)

Unfortunately SB decreased the speed to 8x, so it took about 7min.

Verbatim MCC 003 DVD+R 8x (MIT)
BenQ 1640 BSLB FW.
OS/SB On. WOPC Off.

Guess 8x would be a better burn speed as jitter got out of spec.

Those are VERY weird looking PIEs... they almost look like a benq scanning C1 errors!

Hehe kind of looks that way doesn't it. The drive tray on this drive is going to drive me bonkers sooner or later, talk about clunking.
