All of my Sony(Yuden000 T02) scans over 95+ scan scores. I've yet to test FujiFilm(Yuden000 T02) or those FujiFilm TYG02. I backed up 2 movies on Verbatim(16x branded write) but wasn't impressed with the scan scores.
Hopefully future firmware updates will improve better quality writes with certain media.

Brand: Ricoh +R 16x (made in Taiwan)
Mediacode: RICOHJPN R03
Burner: BenQ 1640 fw BSJB (WOPC on)
Software: Nero CD-DVD Speed v4.0.1
Burnspeed possible: 16x
Burnspeed selected: 16x
Booktype: ROM
Burning time: 5:51
Reader: BenQ 1640 fw BSJB
Readspeed: 8x

First image is burning with cd-dvd speed
Second image is scan with benq1640
Third image is reading curve

DAMN!
These peaks at 3,5 GB are here again!
It give me an error message and stop scanning near the end
From burning curve is clear that this is a really bad batch of media

my liteon 1633 give me a read error and cannot initialize the scan test

The strange thing is that liteon 1633 refuse to recognize this disc, but my dvd reader read it all

You have to eject the disk after burning or cdspeed will scan at max capacity (4482 MB on +R) instead of the real size. I bet the error position (4472 MB) is behind the real disk size in the unburned area.

You're right, I forgot to eject disc; usually I don't do this error because I burn with nero and after burning I put disc on my liteon1633 for scan, but this disc was burned with cd-dvdspeed and scanned after end of burning.

Sorry. Anyway, after this scan I try to rescan with liteon, and it give me an error such as "can't initialize"

Is this a coaster?

My NEC loves FUJIFILM03 (at least the old Datawrite grey media). I wonder what gives with the Benq? I am not testing the few I have left though.

Thanks.

Are they 8 or 16x?
Do you have the Staples SKU by chance?

They are 8X Verbatim, as indicated by the MCC 003 MID. The Staples recipt didn't show the sku #, only the bar code 023942949305 which is the same for Prodisc and CMC made ones. I think the sku # in Canada is different from the ones in the States.
I have also tested some MCC 004 16X +R Verbatim, made by CMC and bought in Staples as well. The quality is only fair. Will post some scans later.

1. Noticed that later. Duh on me.

2. That would be great, thanks. I have some (MCC 004) of those.

BSJB don't give better results than BSHB
I'll try with new firmware and solidburn feature hoping that learning will improve a little burning on these discs

It looks more like 12x if you look at the burn time though. Maybe try with WOPC off?
