| @ crossg: Thanks for posting that. Well, I suppose that's reassuring. So, if that's one extreme ... I'd sure luv to jump into the other extremes that you get as well. Thanks again. My burner definitely produces a helluva lot more PIE than yours do. Well, I guess I just chalk it up to all the 'variables' and maybe just accept what my particular burner is capable of. I loaded up on TYG02's, but maybe I'll have to exchange some for TY T02's, which seem relatively more consistent. But ... it's like the world jsut stops for a moment ... when I see that white pop up box comeup at the end of the scan and see 2 digits in the PIF total section. Ahhhh ... I just have to kind take a moment for myself ... and relish it. ( man, i miss that .. hehe ) |

| No Problem ninbang. Just burned another from the same 50 cake box, just dug down deeper in the pile ( about 10 down from the burn I posted) and guess what sub 50 pif. So I believe it is just media variation. Will post it in the Dare thread later. People must be getting sick of TYG02 scans though.

| B7T9, WOPC on Office Max 8x DVD +R Made In India MBIPG101 R04 Scan #1: Was using Norton Ghost 2003 to burn a hdd image directly to dvd, but now I know better than trust the burning to Norton. Burned in DOS ... I think at 2.4x ... took 25 minutes to burn!! As I was putting the disc into my other drive, the tray closed jamming 1/2 the disc inside. Take a wild guess where the scratches were. ![]() Scan #2: Burned @ 8x in Nero 6.6.0.15. |

| TDK PrintOn DVD-R 8X (CMC-produced TTG02) Burned @ 8X w/ B7V9 FW. ![]() I think we can all agree this is an absolutely horrid disc. This spindle has alot of these, along with many good discs, but this is classic CMC variation. The most amazing part is... it's actually readable! This is a real testament to the excellent reading ability of BenQ drives, which I think are the best rippers on the market. ![]() ![]() It's got 8 damaged files, but they're still readable! |

| @crankydan. That actually looks like a pretty good dual layer burn. Most have a huge spike at the layer change. Just an FYI You can disable the title of the scan by going to file >options>Disc Quality and uncheck show disc label in Nero CD -DVD speed of course.

| @ RangeRoad: Man ... sorry to hear that then. I guess all the criticism of TDK/CMC media is true then. ![]() @ CrankyDan: Time to spray some RoundUp ... looks like you've got a PIF weed patch growing in that 2nd layer. I haven't been impressed at all with Dual Layer burns in general. Compared to SL, just seems way too much PIF's to justify the expense. I wonder how they'll hold up? Good luck with yours. |
