Ninbang: what's the point MBI R04@R05 if you burn it @8x? hehe. Did MBI R04 gave you bad result?

Re: Post your BenQ DW1620 media here

@zevia:

Lol. I know, I know ... but, I'm just searching for the 'best' burn combo's for the media I use. My 1620 is one of those that doesn't seem to work 'well' (I'm talking zevia / crossg / pcdoc kinda scans ) with B7V9, so I'm trying to tweak B7U9 as much as possible. Haha. You can never have too few PIE/PIF's, right?

Actually, MIBPG101 R04 @ default strat worked fine. It's just ala42's MCSE tool is so fun to play around with. And, if I can shave off some more PIE/PIF's @ R05, then it works for me. Hehe.

YUDEN000 T02 Fuji DVD+R 8x. (59)
BenQ DW1620. B7V9 FW.
Buned @12x.
Decided to see if the scan results would differ being scanned on a different BenQ. Result looks pretty close to the same.

New Maxell discs give poor results compared to Yuden000 T02.

Re: Post your BenQ DW1620 media here

Ya, I noticed... but I needed some decent -R media, and these were cheaper than TYG02s... not so bad I guess. I don't plan on overspeeding them anyway.

My congratulation to your brother for this choice/purchase.

On a new drive... I thought this flashback to **L9 should only be perfomed if you encounter problems with burning certain media.
But anyway, good to know.

BTW, now you and your brother have 3 BenQ 1620 drives in total...
I hope they will last for long.

jamescooley1: hey there, next time you save the scan images use the save icon in the top right of the window and save as PNG not jpeg because PNG will be smaller and not ugly like jpeg

Re: Post your BenQ DW1620 media here

I am surprised regarding mine TY media and my 1620 drive . What happend with 12x burn at 2GB a 3,2GB??? All media is from same batch (spindle) Only 8x burn is acceptable. I expect much better quality for TY media. Pls let me your opinion. Thanks in advance.

1st scan is +R YUDEN000 T02 8@8 (B7V9) WOPC on
2nd scan is +R YUDEN000 T02 8@12 (B7V9) WOPC on
3rd scan is +R YUDEN000 T02 8@12 (B7V9) WOPC on
reading test of last DVD looks fine but...

@Sportfish. I had read somewhere in this forum (C0deKings Post I believe) that if you were getting bad results, that flashing back to B7L9 and then restart and flash to the newer FW sometimes helps the burns get better burns. Don't know why so don't ask. Seems to work though. We flashed it back to B7V9 and got this burn. Before this trick the PIE/PIF were way higher, I also did this with both my burners a while ago.
@ pinto2. My bro says thx.
