Yo Sportsmell-

Now I see how you are using all that media you bought - and that your lovely wife doesn't know that you have-

You've posted about 350 scans on all the burners that you have bought or stolen through the years and posted them all in here-

I just knew there was a reason you bought all that stuff - and now you have found a way to rid yourself of all that +R stuff-

Hey Ya Old Salty Dog..... Ya well at least the wife doesn't have me by the throat like yours probably does. Quit being a cheap SOB and start burning up part of the 1000 or so discs you've got laying around. At least ya can't say I'm not contributing to the cause. Wish I would of had all these scans to view prior to me purchasing any of the drives I have and be able to get a damn good idea of what media works well with what drive. But now there are a whole bunch of other people that do and that alone makes it worth my time. So go Suck an Egg but don't forget the salt.

Well it was bound to happen. I finally found a media that my 1620 doesn't like at least at 16X. It's RICOHJPNR02 but my NEC 3500 loves them. I'll give it a try at 12X and see if it makes any drastic come back. If not, the rest of what I have of these will be saved for my 3500.

Well we went down to 12X with the JPNR02 RICOH and did get much better results than the 16X burn. By the way, these RICOH's are TDK Brand.

ProdiscF01@12x, B7T9. Quite good I thought, except for that 8 PIF spike early on.

Burned at 16x

16 PIF at the beginning is a manufacturing flaw.. it appears also at the same spot when burned with my LG 4163 .

Mirror Platinum:
Code: SKC Co.,ltd. DVD-R 4x
Some really bad media here, all of the 25 were pretty much the same
even when burned at 2.4x, but heres the worst!
Its not fully readable in the 1620 but plays fine in my Panasonic DMR-E50

@dakata24, That is a great burn, as for firmware it's a personal choice but I normaly run the most current FW which is B7V9, this also gives you the ability to use Qsuite for TE/FE testing and other interesting stuff. Welcome to the BenQ forum.
