Same media, but with NVidia IDE drivers installed, a better burn.

Better ? Well, at least the sampling count is 25% lower, which will reduce the number of total errors of course. Either the NVidea driver is slower or there was an additional load on your pc.

Hi, I have just bought my DW1620 and this is my first burn scan.

I saw most of your scan get PO failure=0 but mine is having nearly 10k, is this a sign of bad burn? Does it means I would be having problem reading the content of the DVD later on?

Please give me some feedback.
Thanks.

p/s: this media is a cheap 4X media, have the price of my another Ricoh media. I have yet to try out my Ricoh 8X media.

cd-speed should give a quality score of 0! if there is any POF!

I don´t know why you get not a O, because POF meens coaster.

Try a diffenrent media.

Welcome to cdfreaks [J]
Media you are using right now is not that good. I can ensure you RICOH media will give you much better result.

He is not the only one to achieve this...

Anyone ever seen 10 times more POF´s than PIE´s?
Don't blame it on drive or media, blame it on me. Disabling WOPC with this media is suicide.

I see it´s my mistake

When do you get a quality score of 0?

Sorry, no mistake from your side...

More exactly, my meaning was; I also can make a super-coaster without landing at 0 QS.

BTW corsan, have you burned any RICOH media yet?

POF = 0 score is also my experience. The only exception comes when the POF is read from the non-written region, caused by not ejecting the disc after burning.

ok...I am new here and trying to run some tests....Below is a MCC 01RG20 disc (4x)(Prodisc from Supermediastore) written at 8x using T9(02RG20 strategy) ..Can you tell me what the large dips are?? Did the scan come out ok?? Is a time of 8:47 semi respectable for an 8X burn??

all scans are great; the large dips are caused by the wopc technic used in benq and philips dvd burners. It´s normal

ahhh..the WOPC I have heard about...I assume turning this off would increase my speed..(and decrease my reliability).....but if your going for speed, most people have this off?? i saw a couple of 8x scans in the mid 7's..Is that due to +r media?? actaul 8X media?? or WOPC being disabled??

I also checked Pinto2's page on Burst and WOPC..Looks like I am currently screwed as I have 60 pcs of MCC_O1RG20 media (-R@4x) which I can only "overclock" using B7T9......but WOPC disable is only available on B7U9..Oh well..Guess I will take the mid 8 min burns until I get some new media...

thx
bama

Hello,

Here are two of my burns of Fuji 4x branded RicohJPN R01 media burned at 8x on my 1620 in an external 1394 enclosure. The 1620 loves this media. The top scan was burned using the ISO+Joilet filesystem, and the bottom scan uses UDF 1.50.
