BenQ / Philips Writer Discuss, Post your BenQ DW1620 media here at CD and DVD Writers forum; Bought some made in India 8x+R just to test expecting it to be mediocre from what I've read. Turns out to be my best scan yet! Infotool shows it rated to 12x so I'll give that a try later. Going to run a file/disc scan on this now. http://club.cdfreaks.com/attachment....id=21468&stc=1 Attached

Ok, I was wrong My last post wasn't a "great" scan. This is a great scan. Memorex+R 8x made in India @12x. Even better, since O.D. was sold out of $4.99 15packs, got them to match their 25pack to the sale price. 20 cents a DVD Let the stampede begin.

Wonderful burn!

I'm going to start a new thread called something like "Hall of Fame". Only 99% quality rating or better need apply...you should submit a URL link to your previous post...I think it more than qualifies!

Tried out some 8x DVD-R

These TTG02 come out great this was burned at 8x

A not so great result from the RITEKG05 its not the discs as my NEC3500 can do better with them even burned at 12x so definate room for improvement I think.

After starting to get clusters of PI errors towards the end of the disc with Prodisc R03 with B7P9 FW, I switched to T and it seemed to cure the problem.

Hi everyone. I'm very new to DVD burning — I just got my burner, a rebadged BenQ w/ G7P9 firmware — and I have a scan that I was hoping I could get some feedback about.

The details of the burn are very weird: my burner was in DMA Multi-Word Mode, but all my other devices -- 2 HDD's + 1 CDRW -- were stuck in PIO mode (I can't seem to change them), so the burn never exceeded 0.8x.

Any comments about my scan or burner issues would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

MJ

A correction of my previous post with RitekG05 8x DVD-R, turns out it was the media that was at fault the AVN branded RITEK G05 was obviously lower grade quality after I got round to burning a RiDisc branded RITEK G05 which came out just fine below.

Also some 8x DVD-R MCC 02GR20 burned at 12x came out great also.

A good result from 8x DVD+R MCC 003 burned at 12x.

Also picked up some of this 4x DVD-R with a PRODISC S03 media code and I'm going to put this down to a bad batch as none of my DVD writers (BenQ or NEC) could make a working disc from this stuff.
