Doesn't it seem in order to have such high PIFs at the end that the PIE values would have to be higher also???? Look at max PIE (18), max PIF (43)
The higher the speed the higher the risk to go off road when there is a small defect.
It happened to me too to spoil some disks by not cleaning the finger prints before burning. Look also if the disc doesn't have visible scratches.

Hi All,

Could somebody clarify on the systematic drop on the read speed curve at about 0.1 Gb on nearly every scan here, and on mine ?
Sometimes it induces a spike in the PIF graph and sometimes not.

I think it has something to do with the read or write power calibration but I am not so sure.

Thank you

KTL,
Would you be so kind as to post a CD Speed scan of this disc as scanned by the BenQ? I'd like some correlation to my TYG02 burns, but I only scan with the BenQ. By the way, it's nice to see good results on the scan from something BESIDES the BenQ...the conspiracy theorist in me is always a little hesitant to believe just how well the discs scan because the burnt AND scanned on the BenQ

After buying some Arita (B grade disks) high PI errors but low PI failures I was dissapointed. I was used to my good scans with Ridata R03, low PI errors and PI failures. Then a bought a spindle of 50 Ritek R03 (A grade). I believed that A grade would guarantee quality disks......oh my god, I almost got erection problems when I saw the quality scans of those Rtiek R03 burns. Those errors spikes went higher than my..... So after thrown away a lot of money on all the Ritek media I decided to try the Fuij media. I have seen great quality scans here and quality is what's most important for me. Now my erection problems are over...no more viagra media for me .
Here's a scan of Fuij (YUDEN000T02) burning speed 8x, Nero 6.6.0.1.

Sure, I'll do that when I get home tonight from work. That's part of the reason why I used an alternate drive to scan burns done on the Benq or NEC, to play no favorites.

Back again, this time I burned the Fuji (YUDEN000T02) at 12x speed.
This Philips PBDV1601@Benq 1620 pro rocks with this media.
The spikes in the reading graph came from starting up the internet explorer, there's nothing wrong with the disk.
