Well I used CloneDVD and used 12X - I assumed its burnt at 12X since its a full 4.35G movie and only took 7:29 min to finish, with LiteOn 851@832 RicohjpnR01 can only go up to 8X and it took about 11 minutes

BTW, how do you tell which meida is supported at which speed for BenQ?

I don't have the list handy (at work) but I'm sure someone else will post it.

My usual 12x burn takes about 6:30 sec. When I had my Liteon 811s it would take 8:30 for a 8x burn

well thats unusually fast for 8X burn -

so your 16X takes less than 5 mins?

No, that is not unusually fast. My 8x and 12x burn times are consistent with EagleClaw's.

8X for 8:30? thats FAASSTTTT

most 16X burns are between 5-6+ mins

12X 7-8+ mins

Of course it also depends on the meida, but 8X on my 851@832 is around
10-12 mins.

Yup hes right on ^^^^^

What type of media are you burning at 8x? 10-12 mins is slow, almost looks like a 6x burn.

Try "Make Data Disk" from nero cd speed and you should see what speed it's burning at.

Another MCC003 burn from me.
Burnt with Nero 6.6.0.3 and DW1620 Pro (B7S9 firmware)
Completed in 6mins and 39secs

Obnoxious single spike at the 3.5GB mark.
Had it not appear..this graph would be very impressive.

I'm VERY pleased with this burn!
TYG02 burned at 16X
Total time 6:07
The scan was looking SO sweet with the PIE scale showing a max of 10...until the hump at the very end where it hit a MAX of 15 and had to change the scale to 20 (I know it's just horrible )

Not sure why my scans keep getting cut off (like the window shrinks on me but can't get back to full size or scroll to see or anything).

Anyway, here's a disc to disc copy made at max speed from my SD1712 as master and BENQ as slave on this IDE channel. Not to shabby. Media is Ridata DVD+R 4x 100 pack spindle from Newegg (RICOHJPN R01).

Gotta like the results.
