Anyone know where I can download the GP04 firmware? The above link is no longer valid.

Just an FYI, but the best places to find stock BenQ optical drive firmware are:

1. BenQ EU WWW site: http://www.benq-eu.com/support/downl...productline=28

2. BenQ EU FTP server: ftp://mx02.benq-eu.com/dvd-rw/firmware/

Note that the FTP server has more and older firmwares than any of the web sites.

The current locations of the ASPI files needed to use BQFlasher are:

1. Nero FTP server: ftp://ftp6.nero.com/wnaspi32.dll

2. FrogASPI WWW site: http://www.frogaspi.org/download/wnaspi32.dll

Off topic, (don't think that matters, now that BenQ burners are history anyway. )

Thanks negritude for updated fw links.

FTP is always the best way to go guys.


BTW, note that Ahead Nero AG doesn't allow direct linking to any of their files/software.

Not sure what you mean. The link I posted works. If you mean in terms of their web site rules, this is an FTP link, so I don't think the rule applies. No one is circumventing their web menus or navigation in this case.

Plus, it's frankly their responsibility to block direct linking if they don't want you to do that.
