JUHUU!
That's nice to hear! Some people already thought BenQ stopped the firmware developpement after the unification of LiteOn and BenQ.
can't wait to test my 1650 with that.

Improved Power Calibration Judegment sounds great!

They are teasing us so badly...

I wonder, are there any BenQ people visiting this forum and laughing with us?
If not, shouldn't they? (be visiting, not laughing)

Edit: I just bought a 1650, flashed with bchc and waiting for bcic.

I'm keen to try this f/w. I think I could be getting better results from my TDK -R and Verbatim -R media. I'm still using BCDC

The Moderator of cdbest.net BenQ Forum just said the FW fixed the slow down issue when buring MCC004 (Maybe include YUDEN000 T02), and it still test iNTERNAL.

I think it will have download link in future workdays.

Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having problems downloading this new firmware...comfort in numbers... I guess.

On another thought: When I run Everest Home on my wife's machine with her BenQ DW1640 it shows it as being made by BenQ, as one would expect. When I run the Everest Home(same as the old Aida32) on my machine my BenQ DW1650 shows up as having been made by New Universe Technology inc. also know as Nu Tech with a website at "www.nu-global.com"!!! Who are these guys and why is their name inside my BenQ's chips. Even flashing to newer BenQ firmware(BCHC) hasn't changed "New Universe Technology" as the manufacturer. Any of you folks ever heard of these people??? My DW1650 says BenQ on the outside label, it burns just fine and uses BenQ firmware and works with Qsuite 2.1.

TIA,

Shef

OK for the time being, I am gonna play with the new BenQ 1670 Firmware version 1.03, at least I am not bored to death waiting for BCIC since I am still on BCGC and I love it, stock firmware that came with the drive.

Yes, I've burned MCC 004 media, of the same batch, in my Liteon 165P6S, at 12X, with no problem at all.

I was only able to burn them in my 1650, with BCHC F/W, at 4X.

Francksoy, Look here please
I'm well aware of this issue with BCHC . Lots of 1650 users (including me) simply downgraded to BCFC or BCDC. I don't see what's the big issue here, there's an easy fix...

Put differently, there's no problem with the 1650 and MCC004, there's a problem with BCHC and MCC004.

I agree with you that there's no problem with the 1650 and MCC004. I'm also using BCDC F/W.

I'm not trying to downgrade the 1650.

What I do not understand is why people try to support a burner as it was his "son". You know, I've read many posts in forums, where people defend the hardware they have as they were defending their lives. It's just a piece of hardware.

I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness.

Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.

I am so glad that GWB's 8 year COD game is finally over.

The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for the want of an understanding ear. - Stephen King, intro to "The Body."
