Driver for Phillips CDRW/DVD cdd5263

My laptop doesn't think it has a CD-rom anymore. When I open "my computer" all that's there is my main C:/ drive icon. Is there somewhere I can find a download to make it recognize my Phillips CDRW/DVD cdd5263 as hardware and make it work again?

Welcome to cdfreaks.

Windoze provides all drivers needed. Make sure you log in with administrator rights and that 'atapi.sys' driver is present.

If you still have problems download and execute Nero InfoTool . Click floppy symbol at top and save that .txt file. Post within [CODE] # wraps or add as attachment.

Windows is not recognising the driver. I am even trying to look for a driver online, but I haven't find it anywhere online. Can you help me find appropriate driver for the same?

Hi,

I assume, the drive is connected via USB? Then, there is no driver needed (and there doesn't exist one) if Windows XP is used. Don't forget to install Service Pack 2, for that installs USB 2.0 drivers.

Also, check if you have connected the drive properly and don't forget the external power supply.
