Hey Sportfish.... yeah the PIF max of 11 made the 94 score. Anyway, this RICOHJPNR03 is much better than RICOHJPNR02, which BenQ 1620 can burn both @16x.

Been a while since I burned a MCC003@MCC004.
Today I made a new attempt but first burn didn't make it.
(5:20... must be fastest MCC003 burn ever?)

MID: MCC003
Brand: Verbatim DLP Photo Print. (43292)
Type: DVD+R 8x rated
Burned with: Nero CD/DVD Speed 3.80
Burned at: 16x (w/o WOPC)
Burntime: 5:22
Booktype: DVD-ROM
Firmware: B7P9

Eight seconds faster then when on U9 .
.

Hey zevia I missed you posting this (obviously 22 hours ago) and as always Great Work. Got to get back to doing some speed burns. Suprised we haven't seen more BenQ 1640 burns posted here as more and more people are getting them. Maybe when it finally arrives in the USA. Eh?

Maybe the 1640 is just incapable to qualify here -eh? [I hope this triggers them]

zevia how did u get ur maxell002 to burn with this good quality and even faster than a 16x burn here [ http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...4&postcount=79 ]?

i have flashed the 1620 with b7v9-rpc1 firmware and applied the rip patch, but i cant seem to get this burn quality, especially @12x, nor the time <6 mins. heres my scans [ http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...3&postcount=14 ]

i even tried swapping maxell002 with maxell003+wopc disabled, wasnt able to burn @16x, but the 8x burn that did didnt seem any diffrent in quality than the default write strat[since then reflashed to the default firmware]. i have maxell002 MIJ sold as maxell 50pk dvd+r at staples.

What do you mean? Your 12x scan is not that bad.
To make it faster use Quikee's WOPC Tools "Force Spin-up" before you burn.

Hey zevia or crossg...... Haven't done one for a while and I just broke into a new tub of TY's. Did a test with WOPC off. The burn looked decent at 5:20 but the quality test failed on me with an error notice of "No Additional Sense Information (000000)" What do you make of this? I've not seen this one before.

Mark

@crossg........ Hell of a way to get my first 99 eh???

I'm working on it. Seems the heat affects the burn, maybe I should wait until winter?

Don't you have an air-conditioner? Pity I can't use my water cooler to cool DVD writers.

hmm... it's hard to get BenQ 1640/BSJB/DVD-R in this thread since turning off WOPC doesnot completely disable WOPC. Only with DVD-R, WOPC still kicks in at least 10 times thus around 10 seconds slower. The fastest I can get so far is 5:42.

No problem with DVD+R though, but need to burn more to beat crossg.

@Kenshin, Yes I have air conditioner but only in master bed room.
