I tried overburning some unknown media.. using mediacodec speed edit.. burn it at 8x
got it for 13 cents USD. 8:04 minutes

RICOHJPN-R01@R02 4X Imation @8X then 12X then 16X.
Stock firmware is 8X max, Benq has this pegged right.

The funny thing is I burned a movie @16X and it plays fine on the computer and the standalone!! Go figger

12x. Has anyone had sucess burning Prodisc R03 @16x? Everytime I try it only goes to 12x, but Nero Disc Info reports it should burn at 16x. Anyone have any ideas yet?

The firmware tests the disks before burning at the start and the end. If the test result is to bad, the max. speed is reduced.
