IDE excels for me. See here Post # 22.

I get the occasional 8x burn with my MCC 03RG20 but that's the medias fault. BEFB, internal IDE.

I don't have any 8x media so can't check OS to that effect.

Sorry, haven't seen or heard of anything like that. How many discs did you try? If it was just 1 I would think that it was just an isolated incident...

Nice Job with BQFlasher Quikee
Do you think you'll ever integrate WOPC Tool into BQFlasher?

XND1n01h: That was the initial idea... but i wanted to release BQFlasher separated first. When I have time I'll combine everything + SolidBurn + OverSpeed support into BQTools. But first I want to create a cross platform command line flasher as there is almost no support for Linux and Mac platforms.

I still own an explanation about Plextor 740 firmware... the Plextor 740 firmware .exe is a self extracting ZIP file so it's not supported but the file can be extracted with WinZIP or WinRAR or whatever.. and then it contains a .CVT that can be flashed with BQFlasher now.

Hey Quikee, how about creating a new thread called "Quikee's Tools (BQFlasher/WOPC)" for both the Flasher and the WOPC tool and I'll make it a sticky thread in place of the existing WOPC thread. Otherwise we'll have too many sticky threads if I sticky both.

Make sure the new thread has a reference to both of the old threads. When it's posted let me know so I can make it sticky and release the existing WOPC thread.

Hello

Could anyone direct me to a list of BQFlasher command line options?

The problem is that my system has hung up right in the middle of flashing a Benq 1640 with BSLB. Now it shows an unexisting flash version (FK something) and refuses to work. Flashing it with BQFlasher doesn't help - my drive is not even listed in the drop down menu. I have been told that there is a command line switch that allows to override the existing flash version check, but haven't been able to find it.

I would appreciate any help

Thank you.

There is no such switch in the current version but I'll implement it in the new version that will be released in an hour or something like that because minimum modification to BQFlasher are needed.

New Version 0.7.0
Added:
  • command line switch /showAllDrives - shows all drives in the system
  • command line switch /disableDriveChecking - disables checking if the flashed drive supports BenQ commands. Caution! don't use it unless you know the drive supports BenQ flashing but BQFlash doesn't for some reason detect this.
  • various improvements

To download the new version see my signature. =)

Hi Quikee,

I am sorry for asking dumb questions, but I am still quite new to this ...

My question is: can I now use BQFlasher for flashing my Shuttle CR40 (a rebadged BenQ 1620) from G7V9 to B7W9, using the B7W9.exe from the BenQ website? The idea is that I then will be able to burn Imation DL discs (which is an absolute impossibility, sofar - it costed me more than the drive is worth to learn

Regards,

Hans

Yes you can crossflash the drive via that method with BQFlasher, the Imation discs are Ricoh based and till B7W9 these didn't work properly (well at least according to the change log I've not tested that they actually work now myself). They might have worked with an earlier firmware but my memory isnt too good I think the quality sucked so it wasn't worth it.
